Hotel Review: Park Hyatt Marrakech

by Trailblazin Half Asian | Jan 4, 2026 | Hotel Review | 0 comments

As a Hyatt enthusiast, especially for Park Hyatt Hotels, I was looking at ways to kick off my honeymoon in a place that I had never been before that houses Hyatt properties. In comes Morocco… I have always been a huge fan of Moroccan cuisine and culture, and being that Marrakech is one of the most sought after destinations in Africa, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to visit. To put the icing on the cake, the Park Hyatt Marrakech opened back in July 2024, which means that this resort is not only a Park Hyatt, but a new one, meaning this was a must stay for me. As this is my first review as the Trailblazin’ Half Asian, I am very excited to write this for you all and give insight and my experiences that can help you decide if you would like to stay here.

👍 Best For: Couples and families who love private resorts that are outside the city center.

👎 Avoid If: You want to be close to the Medina of Marrakech

Overall Rating:

Booking & Pre Arrival (Score: 9/10)

Booking ease and clarity
I booked this hotel using the World of Hyatt app on my phone. Like all World of Hyatt bookings, the process is rather seamless, with me being able to find the hotel of my choosing and book my stay whether it’s with cash or points.

Booking options with points for Park Hyatt Marrakech.

Room type transparency
The room type transparency was clear regarding what were suites and what were regular base rooms, which is pretty standard with all Hyatt’s when booking. You will be able to navigate their selection of standard rooms all the way up to their specialty suites.

Upgrade communication
With World of Hyatt now allowing users to self-book suite upgrade awards, I was able to easily apply one of my expiring suite upgrade awards to upgrade from the standard King bed to their standard Park Suite King Resort View.

Pre arrival emails or messages
I am not sure if I jumped the gun on this one or not, because typically Park Hyatt’s that I have stayed at usually message me one to two weeks out. However, I wasn’t getting any emails from them as I wanted to confirm a hotel pickup from the airport, so I had to reach out to my Hyatt Concierge and ask for an email since there was no email on their website. Once I got the email and reached out to them, they were very quick to respond and accommodated my requests.

Getting to the hotel
There are two ways to get to the Park Hyatt Marrakech from the airport (RAK). One option is utilizing a taxi, either grand or petit, which involves going to the taxi stand outside arrivals. Be careful as taxi drivers like to overcharge tourists, so be sure to book a taxi inside the airport beforehand to ensure a fixed rate. Another option is to contact the hotel prior to arrival to book one of their hotel cars to pick you up. These were the rates given to me by the concierge:

• BMW I7, Range Rover, Mercedes S Class Cost: 700 MAD per way (Approx. $76)
• Mercedes V Class, Mercedes GLE Cost: 600 MAD per way (Approx. $65)
• Audi A6, VW Touareg Cost: 500 MAD per way (Approx. $54)

Both options take about 15 to 20 minutes to get to the hotel depending on traffic. As this was our honeymoon and we wanted the convenience of having a car ready, we opted for the hotel pickup, which went flawlessly upon our arrival. Taxis are significantly cheaper than the hotel pickup option, but there is the issue of potentially being scammed or having to haggle.

Location (Score: 8.2/10)

Neighborhood convenience
This solely depends on what you are looking for when taking a trip to Marrakech. If you want to stay in the Medina and be right in the heart of Marrakech with everything within walking distance, then this is not the resort for you. You would want to stay in a riad or hotel downtown where all the action is. If you like hotels or resorts that are outside of the craziness of a downtown environment and you enjoy peace and tranquility during all hours of the day, then the Park Hyatt Marrakech is the place for you. The neighborhood consists mainly of resorts and residences that sit on a golf course, so there isn’t much in the surrounding area.

Walkability and transit access
There is no way to walk to nearby attractions if you are staying at this resort. You would need to ask the front desk to call you a taxi or use a hotel car to get you to and from downtown Marrakech, about a 10 to 15 minute drive depending on traffic, in order to see attractions and shop around in the souks. That was the one downside of being outside the city center, but the lack of noise and chaos made up for it.

Check In Experience (Score: 10/10)

Arrival experience
Right from the start, we were greeted by staff who took our luggage to our room. We were then escorted to reception and provided with welcome drinks and cookies, which was a great touch after a long flight.

Lobby atmosphere
The lobby atmosphere is immaculate. The high ceilings, long hallways, art, and library style rooms are simply amazing. My wife and I were in awe of the sheer beauty of the lobby and the surrounding rooms. When walking through these halls, there were always staff members attentively waiting in case you needed anything.

Speed and efficiency
The staff members who checked us in were very efficient and quick in getting all the proper documents in order.

Staff warmth
As with all Park Hyatt’s that I have been to, and especially at the Park Hyatt Marrakech, the staff were extremely accommodating and welcoming wherever we were in the resort. The restaurant staff were incredibly friendly, and my wife and I had quality conversations with many of them. We spoke frequently with Issam Mr and Anas, as their personalities were very kind and friendly. If you stay at this resort, they were working at the Pavillon Terrace, so be sure to say hi to them as they will make your time there very worthwhile.

Clarity of information
At check in, staff clearly gave us all the information we needed regarding the layout of the resort, which is quite large, as well as dining options, fitness and spa hours, pool hours, and more.

Recognition of status
The staff acknowledged my World of Hyatt Globalist status and explained all the benefits as they applied to the resort, including free breakfast, early check in, late checkout, bonus points for my stay, and more.

Room Comfort & Layout (Score: 7.5/10)

Bed comfort
Like all Hyatt beds, my favorite hotel chain mattress, this bed was on the firmer side, which I really enjoy, but it still had plenty of give and plushness to ensure a comfortable sleep. The one thing that fell short was the comforter, as it was far too thick. I found myself sweating more than normal at night and had to turn the AC down significantly to stay comfortable. My recommendation would be to turn the AC down to at least 64 to 66 degrees Fahrenheit, around 18 to 19 degrees Celsius, to ensure proper sleep without overheating.

Room size and layout
As beautiful as this resort and hotel were, I was a bit disappointed with the size and layout of the Park Suite King that I upgraded to. When I upgrade to suites, I expect at least a separate living and bedroom space, as that is generally the definition of a hotel suite. However, the Park Suite King Resort View, at 752 square feet, resembled something closer to a deluxe King bedroom, with the space being only slightly larger than a standard bedroom at 592 square feet. It was disappointing that this was considered a suite when there were no defining features to make it feel like one. Even when looking at the photos on the hotel’s website, it is difficult to tell which room is the Park Suite King Resort View and which is the standard King room. I definitely should have researched this more before using one of my upgrade awards, but they were expiring, and it was our honeymoon, so it made sense to use it in hopes of getting the best room possible.

Park King Suite Bed and Balcony

Storage and usability
The Park Suite King had decent storage space in the bathroom where you could place your suitcase on the side and store clothes in the sliding mirror closet. Overall, this was not an issue for my wife and me, as we had two large suitcases for our 16 day journey.

Seating and workspace
There was ample seating for the two of us. We had a small dining style table where we kept our drinks and snacks, along with a comfortable side chair next to the bed for reading or watching TV. Outside on the balcony, there was a sunbed and two chairs to enjoy the sun and take in views of the resort, golf course, and Atlas Mountains in the distance. One could easily work remotely from this room without issue.

Tall friendly?
As I am 6 foot 2, I had no issues with bed length or ceiling height anywhere in the room or resort.

Good for couples?
The room and resort are perfect for couples, as there is plenty to do on property and the rooms are well secluded, offering excellent privacy.

Cramped for luggage?
There was ample luggage space for two large suitcases, one duffle bag, and two backpacks without feeling cramped.

Cleanliness & Maintenance (Score: 10/10)

Initial cleanliness
Park Hyatt Marrakech was flawless when it came to cleanliness. From the initial drive through the front gate all the way to your room, the resort was pristine, with virtually no areas that could be considered dirty. The overall aesthetic truly resembled an oasis.

Housekeeping
We had housekeeping service two of the three days, and each time the room was perfectly cleaned. We always tidied up beforehand by putting away clothes and personal items. Housekeeping also provided nightly turndown service, replenishing our water and leaving small treats at the bedside, which was a very nice touch.

Hotel wear and tear
As this is a newer hotel, I could not find any signs of wear and tear in our room or around the resort. It was refreshing to see everything in such pristine condition.

Bathroom Experience (Score: 8.1/10)

Bathroom condition
The bathroom was spotless. The double vanity was incredibly useful, as my wife and I both appreciate having our own space for toiletries. Even the standard King rooms come with a double vanity, which I believe is one of the best features for couples traveling together. Yes, I used the tap water to brush my teeth, but I would not recommend drinking it. Use bottled water.

Shower pressure and temperature
The room featured what Park Hyatt calls an Aquamoon rain shower, which reminded me of The Jewel at Changi Airport in Singapore. The water pressure was strong, but the temperature was inconsistent. It would fluctuate between very hot and quite cold, which unfortunately took away from the shower experience. This may have been specific to our room, but it was noticeable.

Toiletries quality
As with most Park Hyatt’s, the bathroom was stocked with Le Labo Bergamote 22 products, including shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, and soap bars. If you are a fan of Le Labo products, you will be very happy here.

Counter space
The double vanity provided plenty of counter space, allowing our toiletries to be spread out comfortably without feeling cramped.

Lighting and mirrors
The bathroom lighting overall was good. The issue came with the beauty mirror area. My wife wanted to use it for makeup, as there was a dedicated counter and mirror with lighting around the edges, but we could not find a way to turn the lights on. We were unsure if there was a hidden switch or if the lighting was purely decorative, but it was frustrating for her not to have proper lighting in that space.

Noise, Light & Climate Control (Score: 10/10)

Soundproofing
Because the resort is located away from main streets, there was no city noise at all. Being away from downtown Marrakech means you truly hear nothing around you, unless you happen to have a loud neighbor, which we did not experience.

Blackout curtains
The blackout curtains were extremely effective at blocking out sunlight, which is standard at Hyatt hotels.

AC and heat effectiveness
The thermostat was intuitive and responsive, allowing us to reach our desired temperature without any issues.

WiFi, Power & Tech (Score: 9.7/10)

WiFi speed and reliability
The WiFi worked very well throughout our stay. While I did not run a speed test, we were able to FaceTime friends and family, browse the internet, stream Netflix from my iPad, and send emails without issue. When using public Wi Fi networks such as those in hotels or restaurants, it is recommended to protect your data by using a Virtual Private Network. A VPN encrypts your internet traffic and provides an extra layer of security, even though most secure websites and applications already use encryption.

Outlet placement
There were plenty of outlets throughout the room, including outlets on each side of the bed as well as USB A and C ports.

Smart TV usability
The Smart TV offered all the modern features you would expect. We were able to stream Netflix directly from my iPad, and the TV interface also provided helpful information about the hotel, amenities, and dining options.

Room controls
It took a few minutes to figure out which button controlled what, but once we did, everything worked smoothly.

Food & Beverage (Score: 10/10)

Breakfast quality and value
As a Globalist, I was entitled to complimentary breakfast for two. Breakfast was served at TFAYA, the brasserie arabesque restaurant in the main building. The hours were generous, from 7 AM to 11 AM. The experience was excellent, with a hybrid buffet and ala carte setup. You order egg dishes from the menu and then visit the buffet, which offered a wide selection of hot and cold items, including Moroccan breakfast dishes served in traditional tagines. This was a very satisfying breakfast experience.

Room service
Room service was available 24 hours a day, though we did not use it.

On site dining and bar
Park Hyatt Marrakech has several dining options:

TFAYA – A Moroccan restaurant with an extensive menu. We dined here on our first night and were blown away by the flavors and generous portions. At the end of the meal, the staff surprised us with a traditional Moroccan marriage celebration, which was a wonderful and unexpected honeymoon touch.

Pavillon Terrace and Pool – A mix of casual and upscale dishes. We ate here twice and loved everything. The Park Burger was massive and delicious. This is also where you order food and drinks while at the pool.

The Living Room – A bar located across from reception with a beautiful ambiance and an excellent cocktail program. They also offer sushi, which we tried and thoroughly enjoyed.

Coffee availability
There was no shortage of coffee throughout the resort. Each restaurant offered coffee options, and breakfast service included made to order coffee. We also made use of the in room Nespresso machine.

Amenities & Common Spaces (Score: 10/10)

Gym quality
The gym, located within Le Spa, was well equipped with cardio machines, free weights, weight machines, and dedicated spaces for activities like yoga and TRX.

Pool and spa
The resort features three heated pools, including one by the main building, one on the side, and one inside Le Spa with a jacuzzi. Le Spa also offers a wide range of treatments from early morning to evening.

Lounge areas
There were plenty of lounge spaces throughout the resort for relaxing, working remotely, or enjoying the scenery.

Miscellaneous Items

Welcome notes or drinks
For our honeymoon, the hotel surprised us with a cake, treats, a bottle of wine, and a handwritten note in our room, which was a thoughtful and memorable gesture.

Floor or room location notes
Due to the size of the resort, it is possible to get turned around at night, but the property is fully enclosed and easy to navigate. Golf carts are also available for guests who need assistance getting around.

Could you work comfortably here?
Yes, you could easily and comfortably work remotely from this resort.

Would I Stay Here Again?

Yes, I would absolutely stay here again, with a few caveats.

Same room type?
I would opt for a standard King room instead of using a suite upgrade award, as the Park Suite King is not truly a suite.

Only on points?
I would stay here on points again, as cash rates can be quite high and the points redemption offers strong value.

Only if discounted?
Off peak dates can reduce the points cost significantly, making it an even better redemption.

Final Verdict

Best For: Couples and families who want a peaceful resort experience away from city noise.

Not Ideal For: Travelers who want to be in the heart of the Medina and close to all the action.

One Sentence Takeaway: A beautiful luxury resort with exceptional service, amenities, and dining that offers total tranquility while still being a short drive from downtown Marrakech.
